Scholarship fund dedicated to Dr. Chen by grateful patient
A very grateful patient family recently started and dedicated an ongoing educational scholarship fund in honor of Dr. Jack Chen for saving his mother during her heart attack. It was a high-risk procedure, but the patient did beautifully. The fund will sponsor continuing education programs for cardiology and critical care nurses at Northside Hospital. Our practice and the Hospital are very appreciative of the generous donation.
Dr. Chen frequently lectures on interventional cardiology techniques and most recently was invited to lecture as Guest Faculty at the Transradial Training Conference at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He instructed physicians, nurses, and technologists on advanced techniques and presented the latest developments in transradial access for interventional cardiology (eg, angioplasty and stent implantation).

Our very own Dr. Balk was the first Dr. to implant a wireless pacemaker at Northside Hospital; the first Hospital to employ this new technology in the Metro Atlanta area.

Dr. Jack Chen helped to establish and is founding faculty of the Institute for Therapy Advancement-Transradial Training Program in Minneapolis. At this institute, he trains invasive and interventional cardiologists from around the nation on advanced transradial catheterization and interventional techniques, utilizing state-of-the-art methods, including 3-D interactive simulations.
October, 2011: Dr. Chen will be speaking at the Indiana University Health Cardiovascular Consortium.
Dr. Jack Chen was recently invited to speak as guest faculty on
the advances and benefits of minimally invasive robotic heart surgery at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. Candidates for this operation do not need to have a chest incision.

closer to you. This includes providing diagnostic tests
within its new facility to include Echocardiography and Exercise

Northside Cardiology has purchased and
is implementing an Electronic Health Record (EHR). Your
records will be available to the provider at either of our locations
via our EHR. You can continue to call the same phone number
you have always used to schedule at either location.
Dr. J Chen was recently
elected as Cardiology Section Chair of Northside Hospital. Dr. Singh
and Silverman have also been past Chairs.
Dr. Balk, Chen and Hafeez are all listed in the "Guide to America's Top
Cardiologists" 2006 edition at
Dr. Chen does the most
radial artery catherizations of all interventional cardiologist at St
Joseph's hospital. This technique offers patients the ability to
